Read the Stories documentation
  • Live numbers in your sentences that update, and show when they changed
  • Write with AI from your data, and see the draft before it goes in
  • Co-edit in real time, assign sections, and review before you publish

A story your whole team writes

A co-editor adds a sentence, a live number moves and asks to be reworded, a reviewer comments with a suggested edit, and the AI drafts the next section for you to insert.

From first draft to the Monday digest

Everything around the writing: templates to start from, a record of every version and reader, and ways to share that keep each reader inside their own access.

  • Templates

Start from a business review, board pack, incident review or weekly KPI update, or save any story as your own template.

  • Versions and activity

Each publish saves a version. Compare any two word by word, restore one, and see who did what in the activity list.

  • Who read it

Editors see each reader’s time with the story, counted only while it is open and in view, and when they last read it.

  • Follow, and the Monday digest

Follow a story to hear about new versions and comments. On Mondays, one email lists the story work waiting on you.

  • PDF and Slack

Export a PDF exactly as the story reads on screen, or post its title, summary and link to a Slack channel. No numbers go to Slack.

  • Frozen stories

When an admin allows it, a publish keeps every chart’s rows as they were. Freezing never widens anyone’s access.

  • Found by search and AI

Ctrl+K finds the stories you may read, and AI Chat can draw on published stories you can read, never their numbers.

  • On Android

Stories open in the Android app’s Library, with comments and follow.

What you can do with Stories

  • Live charts, tables and numbers

Charts, tables and numbers run whenever someone reads the story, with that reader's own data access. Someone whose access hides a source sees a dash, never the value.

  • Write with AI

Ask a question about your data and the AI drafts a section, showing its steps as it works. Nothing goes into the story until you click Insert section, and AI-written sections carry a badge.

  • A full writing toolkit

Tables with merged cells, colors and sort (paste straight from a spreadsheet), Chart this table, images inline or as blocks, panels, toggles, code, status labels, dates and @mentions.

  • Comments and suggested edits

Comment on a section or a selected passage, mention people, and suggest edits that an editor accepts or rejects. Ask AI on a thread and add its answer as a section.

  • Plan and review the work

Give each section an assignee, a due date and a status, follow the work on a board, and ask reviewers to approve before the story is published.

  • Share with an access check

Before you invite someone, see which live charts and numbers their data access would hide. A section can hide itself from readers who can't see all of its data.

Inside Stories

Numbers that keep up with the business

Type # to put a number from the section's live tables and charts into your sentence. It reads today's value every time someone opens the story. When the value has moved since you wrote it, it is underlined in amber and the section says what changed.

  • Reword with AI suggests new wording to accept, or keep the words
  • Readers whose access hides the source see a dash, never the value
  • Frozen stories keep a published moment's rows, when an admin turns them on

AI that drafts, and you decide

Start from a question, a goal or a template. The AI works within your data access and shows its steps, and nothing is added until you look at the result and insert it.

  • From a goal, the AI outlines the sections for you to edit
  • Select text to shorten, expand, fix, change tone or translate it
  • What should come next? suggests the section a reader would want

Work together, then publish

Edit a section together with named cursors, assign sections with due dates, discuss in comments and suggested edits, and publish once every reviewer approves.

  • A board view by status, with Only mine
  • Versions with a word-by-word compare, and restore
  • Who read it: each reader's time with the story

How it works

  1. Step 1: Start a story

Blank, from a question, from a goal, or from a template

  2. Step 2: Write it together

Your sections and the AI's, with live data

  3. Step 3: Review

    Comments, suggested edits and approvals

  4. Step 4: Publish and share

Readers see live numbers with their own access

Who can see the numbers in a story?
Every live chart, table and number runs with the reader's own data access. Someone whose access hides a source sees a note or a dash in its place, never the value, and a section can be set to hide entirely from readers who can't see all of its data.
What does the AI do, and when does it run?
Write with AI drafts a section from a question about your data and shows its steps; nothing is added until you insert it. The AI can also outline a story from a goal, rewrite a selection, and suggest what should come next. Each run is one request on your workspace's AI credits, made only when you click.
Can several people edit at once?
Yes. Several people can edit the same section together. Each cursor carries its owner's name, and every change saves as you type.
Can we freeze the numbers for a board pack?
Yes, once a workspace admin turns on frozen stories and presentations. Each publish then keeps every chart's rows as they were, and readers see when the data is from. Freezing never widens access: readers still need access to a chart's data to see its kept rows.
How do stories reach people outside the app?
Export PDF prints the story as it reads on screen. Share to Slack posts the title, summary and a link to a workspace channel, and no numbers go to Slack. People who follow a story are notified of new versions and comments, and a Monday email lists the story work waiting on them.
